FYI- Pay increase update:

On July 12^th 2007 AFSCME members voted to ratify the unit 2 Contract.  We are waiting for funding for this 1 year extension, which must go through the State Legislature.  And, YES this 3% will be retro. Implementation of all terms will follow.

Contract Negotiations:

Contract Negotiations for a 3 year successor agreement to the recently ratified extension will commence on October 2, 2007.

Karla Mitchell, Rita Carter, Darlene Woodward are on the Negotiations team.

AFSCME Family Scholarship:

AFCSME International’s 2008 Family Scholarship is open for applications for High School seniors graduating in 2008, who are children of AFSCME members. Thirteen (13) scholarships of $2000 each will be awarded to winners, selected from applications that meet the eligibility requirements. The scholarships will be renewed each year for a maximum of 4 years.  You an download the application at www.afscme.org, Deadline for receipt of applications is December 31^st, 2007
