DMR provides assistance in job placement, transportation, housing, or intense levels of treatment, monitoring and care. DMR provides these services through state-operated programs and with 265 provider agencies across the state.

AFSCME members who are represented by locals belonging to SUMMUP are state employees across the Commonwealth who are proud to work in the field of Mental Retardation and are dedicated to the care of their clients. There are eight SUMMUP locals representing the employees at facilities/group homes within DMR.
