SUMMUP Meetings

Monthly meetings

Monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from September through June, excluding the convention month.

Meetings begin at 10:00 a.m. and run until 3:00 p.m. A lunch buffet is included.

Each Local union may have three delegates in attendance.

Meetings are held at the C. P. Tuttle Post on Bancroft Road in Auburn, MA.

Directions

From Mass Pike:
Take the Mass Pike to Exit 10A
Follow the signs for Route 20 West
At the second set of lights turn right at the Shell Station
Take the first right onto Bancroft Road
(If you pass the Fallon Clinic you have just missed the road!)
The Tuttle Post is the brick building on the left with the flag pole out front and a large parking lot.

SUMMUP Executive Board Meetings

Executive board meetings are held the 1st Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the AFSCME 1153 union office at the Hadley Building in Westboro, MA.

Directions

Take Mass Pike to exit 11A
Follow Route 495 North to exit 23B
Follow Route 9 West
At the second light take a right onto Lyman Street
Follow Lyman Street for one mile until you see the Hadley Building on your right.

Rules for SUMMUP Meetings

  1. Meetings will be called to order at 10:00 a.m.
  2. Business with staff representatives will be conducted prior to the meeting, during lunch, or after the meeting has adjourned.
  3. There will be no smoking in the hall at any time.
  4. There will be no side conversations during meetings.
  5. All cell phones and beepers will be put on vibrate or turned off during meetings. If a phone rings the owner will pay $5.00 and an additional $5.00 if call is answered to a fund, which will be used for toys for Christmas for a designated program.
  6. All opinions are to be respected and all discussions should be inclusive of all delegates.
  7. No single delegate shall monopolize the floor during discussions, trainings, etc.
  8. There will be a “sign out” sheet. Any delegate who is on paid release time and who leaves early must state the reason to the chair. The board will monitor this.
  9. Delegates will sign his/her name only on the sign out sheet.
  10. Delegates who have been granted release time must be present at the meeting.
  11. Locals will be notified if their delegates are no shows or leave early.
  12. Locals must follow SUMMUP procedures for requesting leave time and shall not seek release time for SUMMUP meetings through Council 93.
